I love being a Gramma. One of the things I enjoyed about the 'waiting' was being able to work on baby projects like these 'sneaker' booties. I don't think they fit for more than 5 seconds, but they were a lot of fun to make. I had a lot of fun with my first grandson:
I asked my daughter to pick a blanket pattern that she liked and she chose these puffy hearts. He came home from the hospital wrapped in this one.
I decided to make a "Gramma Blanket" as well.. one that stays at Gramma's house. It was pretty time consuming so that one is a one time deal, but it is beautiful!
However, my favorite "gramma blanket" to make for new grammas is this crayon blanket.
I also like making this round throw as a gift... makes a great 'throw it on the floor so the baby has a place to lie' blanket. It is over a yard in diameter so good sized.
When my grandson got older, I asked him if he wanted a bigger blanket. Since they live north of us, it gets a bit cold, so I made him this racing stripe blanket out of washable wool in "Lightning McQueen" colors. It's almost the size of a twin bed so it should keep him warm for many winters to come!
Yayyyy!!! I was allowed to post a comment!!
